Operation Gratitude

Ribbed Knit Beanie by Whitney Anderson for Operation Gratitude - free pattern

Have you heard about Operation Gratitude? Every year, Operation Gratitude supports deployed military personnel, first responders, and care givers with care packages. Each care package includes a handmade item.

Sugar Bush Yarns and Love Crafts have teamed up to provide several free patterns that can be made to donate to these care boxes! As the daughter of two Army veterans, I jumped at the chance to knit a hat to donate when Sugar Bush reached out to me.

There are several free patterns to choose from. I made the Ribbed Knit Beanie by @whitneymarieanderson who is a Navy veteran herself! I chose Sugar Bush Bold in the color Prairie Gold, which is so perfect for fall.

From the Operation Gratitude website, they recommend using soft yarns and subtle colors such as blues, browns, greens, greys, maroon and black.
